I have been out on the town checking different places out so it’s been a few days since I posted anything on my blog. I have made a friend he is in the Chinese military I met him at one of my treatment. He took my father and myself out to purchase some blue jeans and shoes then we went to a place he likes to eat at. The food was great very tasteful and everyone there was very friendly. They are celebrating new China from Oct 1st until Oct 7th it is their independence holiday. They say that they became independent in 1949. I still have been having oxygen treatments acupuncture and physical therapy everyday. I believe that I will having another stem cell injection sometime today. I will find out tomorrow if Dr Wang thinks that a surgical procedure would be a benefit to my type of injury. I am very comfortable with what ever Dr Wang suggest he is very professional. I have had some different types of feeling in my legs and hopefully I will notice more after another injection. I am sleeping better and I seem to have more energy during the day. It looks like it’s time for the nurse to give me my daily IV. They want to make sure that my body maintains plenty of fluids. Well my IV is finished and it’s time to go for a oxygen treatment.

Well I made it through my first stem cell injection into my spine just fine. They inserted a needle into my spinal cord at injury site and removed some spinal fluid. Then the Dr Wang injected a fluid to prepare the injury site to accept the stem cells injection. Then Dr Wang injected the stem cells there was a little pain put nothing you would expect. I have smashed my finger before that hurt a lot more that the whole process did. The doctor and nurses here are super they take their time and although I have only picked up a few Chinese words and sometimes their English is a little broken, they always make sure that I know what they are getting ready to do. The part that is a little tough on me is having to lay in my bed on my back for six hours after the treatment. I get bored and want to get up but if that’s what it takes to help get me moving again than I can deal with it. I started out this morning the day after my first stem cell injection by having a iv. Then I went for a oxygen treatment then acupuncture and finally a physical therapy session. Charlie was my therapist an he did a excellent job the best therapy session I have ever had. Sid is the guy who keeps things going during the day he is very busy but he is doing a great job. I have some different feelings in my midsection and legs it would be hard to describe it but it’s a good thing. I can say that I am very satisfied with the treatment here and all the people who work in this hospital. It has been a very efficient and friendly process so far.

I have been here in Shenyang since Friday the 22 of September. I have met a lot of people here and I can say that everyone here has been very friendly and helpful. I have gone and had a acupuncture treatment and it stimulated nerves in my back and legs. I thought that there would be some pain with acupuncture but there was no pain at all. I have been evaluated today Monday September 25 for what type of physical therapy will be best for my condition and recovery. The therapy doctor spent time making sure that I will receive the proper rehabilitation therapy that will be best for my condition. I am supposed to have my first stem cell treatment tomorrow I am looking forward to it. I met a Chinese man in the hall of the hospital and he spoke no English and I speak no Chinese. I can say thank you in Chinese and that’s about it. We did hand gestures for a short while and was able to see that he had experienced the same type of injury that I have. I saw him later the same day and I was with Rose a nice young lady who works at the hospital. Rose speaks very good English and told me that his injury had happened ten years ago. That made me feel very good about being here in China and looking forward to getting my first stem cell injection. What made it so good is that I had to look up at him because he was standing up. He can walk with a slight limp but he said that the limp was something that he can deal with. I plan to keep putting information on this site though out my treatment and recovery. The time that it takes for results differs in one patient and other patients. I have been told that some results are sooner in some people and later in others. Patients bodies tend to differ in the way they accept and use the stem cells that are injected into the damaged area of the body. I hope and pray that my results are more sooner than later’ but with all of the other patients that I have come in contact with I will not get in a hurry. The patients here are from the United States, Mexico, China and many other places. I hope to be able to keep up to date on my postings. The patients comments and postings on the China Stem cell website is what helped me make my dicision to make the trip here.
