Returning to China
February 9th, 2008
It is with great excitement I would like to announce that I am getting ready to head back to China for my second round of stem cell treatment the beginning of April.. I will be going to a different hospital much further to the north this time round but they have developed to the point now where they are trying to group together the same treatment conditions in order to become more specialized. They are getting much better results this way I have learned.
It has been some time now since I have noticed anything new and I should have returned earlier. The age old issues of having both the time and the money together at the same time.
Hopefully I will have lots to post again very soon.

hello,
I just read your entire postings. I live in Maine with my almost 16 year old son. He’s a T 8-10 complete para. I am seriously looking into this treatment. My only real “fear” is the introduction of pain in the lower half of his body. How has that been for you? And along with that is my wish for B&B improvements. Any thoughts? My e-mail address is: ercundy@hotmail.com. Good Luck with your next visit. Can you help decipher all the “choices” that are given you? I’ve already looked at all the choices and quite frankly I’m a bit overwhelmed. Thank You and Good Luck!

I have been following your story since before you went to China the first time. Your strength of character and determination are riveting. This is very good news for you and I wish you the best of luck with your second trip.

Cheryl,
I have been following your progress and am very happy to hear your results.
You mention that on your return trip, you will visit a different hospital further north. What hospital and where is it located? I am considering China’s SCT for my son. We have been focused on the Tiantan Puhua Hospital in Beijing for the first therapy.
Your thougts?
Best regards,
Jim.

Cheryl,
Hello….I am from North Carolina and have spinal muscular atrophy. I am making plans to go to China for stem cell treatment and bone marrow transplant/cleansing. I have been looking for someone who has already been to communicate with. I trust the doctors there, put I would really like to hear more about the experience from someone who has gone through it. When I read that you are going back for a second time, I was hoping you would not mind sharing some information with me that will help me feel better about everything. I am 51 years “young” and love life. I am not ready to give up. I have always been a very positive person but my weakness is coming on so fast I can’t use my arms much anymore. I have used a wheelchair since my early 20’s and handled that OK. It is losing my arms now that is causing me to become dependent on others that is hard to deal with. Any information you would be willing to share about your experience in China would be very much appreciated. I hope your second visit was successful. Look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely, Robin Heffner

Betty Helm, 57, was diagnosed with MS in 2000. She traveled to China in May, she was experiencing numbness on the right side of her body, severe double vision and a lack of balance and stamina.
“We were so enthused when we were there,” Helm said. “We saw miracles happening.”
“After my first stem cell treatment, my double vision was gone and I could feel the right side of my face and the right side of my body,” Helm said. “It was almost immediate for me. I just kept feeling better and better.”
Helm was so pleased with the treatment that she formed Stem Cells for Hope, a nonprofit organization aimed at educating people about stem cell treatment.
The website for the Stem Cells for Hope organization has been launched with a discussion forum. Please visit the Stem Cell Therapy Education website & Discussion forums.
