We’re home!!!

Thursday, June 12th, 2008

After many many long hours of traveling we finally made it home on Monday evening. It is so good to see all our family and friends again. While we had fun and enjoyed our trip, there is no place like home. Thank you to everyone who has been praying for Kacie and her journey in China. Thank you for all your support. Without you, all these amazing things would not be happening for her.

I will update her blog as changes happen and after her doctor appointments. So please check back every now and then.

Thank You,

Rinda

Leaving Qingdao

Saturday, June 7th, 2008

Sorry I haven’t udated. We have been spending our last few days out as much as we could. We seen some new sights and did a little shoppin. I can’t believe the time has come for us to say goodbye. It has been a wonderful experience that we will always remember. The staff at the hospital was so amazing. You couldn’t ask for nicer or sweeter people. They are always smiling and saying hello. They have given us something here that we couldn’t get anywhere else. And we couldn’t have gotten here without everyone at home. So many people gave so much and we just can’t say thank you enough. You ALL are helping a dream come true. Kacie has started having changes in her vision and should continue to change thru the next year. Even though this is a very slow process, we are so excited to see what each new tomorrow brings.

Please keep us in your prayers as we travel home. Lord willing we should arrive back at Arkansas on Monday morning.

I can’t wait to see everyone. We have missed you all so much. We’re comin home boys!!!

Lovin & Missin you all,

Rinda

Hot Pot

Thursday, June 5th, 2008

Well being the day after Kacies treatment her back and head hurt a little when she stirs, like the other times, we didn’t do much. We went to acupuncture and came back to the room for most of the day. We have read almost 20 chapters of her Little House on the Prairie books today.  Needles to say I about lost my voice. We finally finshed it though. After that we was  getting ready to go out for supper and they brought in a new schedule for the rest of the week. I guess                    Martin(acupuncture) is going to be off Friday instead of Sunday. So we are done w/all needle pokings. Kacie is so glad she’s not going to be a pin cushion no more. All we have tomorrow morning is doctor visiting and then we  are done.

Tonight for supper Kirshner took us all out to a place I think was called Hot Pot. It was really neat. You had a burner with a pot on it and they put some kind of broth in it. It would get really boiling hot. Then they brought out your food raw and you cooked it in the hot broth. We had some beef and lamb in thin strips and some chicken and beef meatballs. Then there was all kinds of green veggies and some mushrooms. They say this kind of meal is traditional here. It was good. We enjoyed the food and getting to visit with everyone. Tomorrow and Saturday we are going to go out and try to see all we can before we fly out on Sunday.  I can’t wait to be back home I am missin everyone so much.  Especially my boys.

5th treatment

Wednesday, June 4th, 2008

Well Kacie had her 5th and final treatment today at around 2:00p.m. She said this one hurt even more than the last one. But she is doing good right now. It has been 30 minutes since she got to get up from her 6 hours of laying. She is settin up and playing with her dolls. Her back hurts a little and she has a slight headache but she seems good other than that. That is how she usually feels after a treatment. She had grandma go get her a KFC Shrimp sandwich AGAIN. Grandma went and got it for her for supper and got her some more Evian water from the rt mart. We just read some more of Little House on the Prairie and watched some movies while we waited for time to be up. We walked the stairs right before treatment so maybe she would be tired and ready to lay for a while. She did good the hole time of laying. We are so glad this is our last treatment. Kacie says she is tired of being a pin cushion. She only has 2 more days of acupuncture and she is so glad of that.Thank you again for all your thoughts and prayers.

A walk in the Park

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

Today we didn’t go to far. We took a walk in the park that is right here close to the hospital. It is called Century Park. It is the same park that we went to earlier but we went to another part of it that we hadn’t seen.  It has a lot of pretty things to see. One of the really neat things is that they are getting ready for the olympics. They are putting together so many different things which makes the park so bright with colors. It is so neat that we are in a town where the sailing part of the olympics are going to be held. Every where you go here it seems they are gettin ready for it.  It was nice to get out and I think we walked Kacie’s legs off so maybe she will be ready to spend her day laying around tomorrow evening. She will get her 5th and final treatment some time after noon. She is doing really good and I think I notice little things change here and there.

Well that was our day and now grandma is reading another Little House on the Prairie book. She just loves to listen to those.

Please keep her in your prayers.

Out again

Monday, June 2nd, 2008

Well today Kacie decided we need KFC AGAIN!!! So after we got done with  acupuncture  we got around and had lunch there.  Of course Kacie got a shrimp sandwich, her favorite thing there. She says she has to eat alot of them because she dont think they will have one back home at our KFC.

Well an interesting thing happened while we were sitting there. Kacie asked me if I was eating my french fries plain and I said no I had Ketchup. She looked over toward mine and just stuck her french fry right in the ketchup. I was like wow. She always stuck her fingers in her ketchup  to see where it was even when it was right in front of her. This time it was closer to me and she just dipped it right in there. I said Kacie you didn’t stick your fingers in the ketchup to find it and she said no I could see it. =~) Just made me smile!! Slowly it is working. We are so thankful for what she has already recieved and excited to see what each tomorrow brings.

Thank you for all your prayers.

Polar Ocean World

polarwrld-002b.JPGpolarwrld-001a.JPG                                                                                               Since we were lost anyway we decided to stop a popular picture taking spot.

We had lots of fun at Polar Ocean World. We got to see all kinds of sea creatures. There were more larger animals here than at underwater world. I wish bubby could’ve been here to see the sharks and polar bears. He would have really loved it. We even got to see a show with dolphins. Even though we might have got lost for a couple of hours trying to find Polar Ocean World in the mean time we found a nice place to eat. We got to try lots of different foods and actually they were kinda good. We are gettin better at those chopsticks too. We had lots of fun just being out of the hospital.

When we got back they were having a party for Mitzi, who was going home the next day. So we sat around and visited with everyone and had some pizza. The day went by alot faster than the others.
