Last Injection…

Well, they ended up giving me my last stem cell injection Wednesday evening around 6:30 pm. According to the schedule I was supposed to get it Thursday but I’m glad to be done with it. After the injection I spent my “time” flat in Chris’ room visiting. I have had my acupuncture treatments the last two days. Once again I was able to feel all the needles!!! Just can’t wait to see what happens in the next few months…

Today, Thursday, I have pretty much just spent the day in my room. Can’t wait to get home! My plane is scheduled to leave around 1155 AM Friday morning from Shenyang (9:55 PM Thursday night for you all). Weather is looking good.

Well, guess that is all for now. It has been so good to hear from each one of you.  Hope everything is well with you all. See you’ll soon!!! Nut

Packed & ready to go…

Well, it’s Wednesday – only one more day! Can’t wait! Yesterday afternoon we packed up everything except for what I need for the trip home. Finally seems like it is coming to an end! LOL

For the last two days I haven’t had any acupuncture because of it being “holiday.” My acupuncture starts back today but I don’t think I will get more PT here. Tomorrow I will get my last injection.

The weather looks perfect from the window- sunny… I’m sure it is cold though! Think the runway should be cleared, so I won’t have to get out do that! Can’t wait to see you all… Only a few more hours! Thanks for all your thoughts and prayers, Nut

Happy New Year!!!

Happy New Year!!! Can’t wait to see you all next year! LOL… glad that is just around the corner! Well, not much new here…. Since it was New Years’ eve we had a break today from the usual treatments. They did start back my acupuncture on Saturday – and once again I was able to feel all the needles! The PT who works on Chris came to my room the other day and gave me a massage. We were testing how far down my back I could feel and I was able to fell almost all the way to my butt! Alot farther than when I came here…

Snowing has stopped, thank God! I only have one more stem cell injection due on Thursday – so thankful! Chris and his family come and visit quite often. Lisa (Chris mom) stayed in the room to visit with me for a few hours last night. She is one lively women! Has all the energy in the world! She is great company as long as she hasn’t taken her nightly dose of Ambien – then she staggers around like she is drunk, no kidding! LOL… The other night she was feeding me dinner after she had taken her Ambien and she was so out of it that I didn’t think she would ever make it to my mouth!!!

Well, only a few more blogs – then I can tell you in person! Can’t wait…. Hope you all have a great time tonight! Miss you all… Thanks for your thoughts and prayers! Nut

Been Miserable…

Thank you all for all your comments… It has been a miserable (”like hell”) couple of days for me. Ever since the episode of blacking out on Christmas they have not allowed me to leave my room, kept IV’s in me all the time, and kept me lying totally on my side. My neck and shoulders have been aching terribly. They were so worried about my pressure dropping again that they haven’t even been doing my acupuncture or PT!!! Finally spoke with them today (Friday) and they are supposed to start back my therapy (at least acupuncture) tomorrow. Was worried they weren’t even going to give me my injection this afternoon – but they did. I didn’t feel the needle this time but once again I have this warm sensation down my back and tons of energy! Was going to go over to Chris’ room (with the hospital staff’s approval) but ended up deciding to stay in for the night, seeing the time and all… Slowly but surely I’m feeling a little better. Just seemed for a while that every thing I asked was a “no” and that I was stuck in this horrible “cell.”

For the last few days it has been snowing quite a bit. I can see huge snow flakes coming down from my window. It better not even think about snowing me in here! Why, I’ll go and clear the runways with a shovel myself if that’s what it will take to get out of here!!! LOL

They have been on me quite a bit about what I eat… been eating pretty much what they want me too! They seem to think I need to eat more protein. Well, I had some meat-lovers pizza for supper and it was quite good. Have been eating a few Chinese dishes as well. I miss my PBJ sandwich for breakfast – Chicken Little doesn’t quite seem to know what that is!

Well, only a week till I leave, can’t wait – and that’s no joke!!! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. Look forward to seeing you all soon. Till later, Nut

All is well

Sounds like you all had a good Christmas… Is always good to hear from you all! Well, things are going good here. Guess they decided that I blacked out the other night because of propping my feet up caused my BP to drop. I am free of the heart/BP monitor but they are still keeping a close watch on me! Wouldn’t let me leave my room at all yesterday (26th) even on my bed. They are being mean to me!!! I think I’ve been condemned to my room! LOL… Don’t think there is any chance I will get to go outside again until next Friday – to come home, can’t wait!

Other than my usual treatments, I mainly watched movies all day, seeing I couldn’t get out. I got LOST season three on Christmas and have already watched 8 discs! Guess I can always watch them again. Chris’ parents have been in to check on me and talk. It’s so good to have them here…

Things are going well with Chicken Little. Still have some communication issues but it’s all worked out… Get my next stem cell injection on Friday. Well, hope you all are doing well. Have a great day. Can’t wait to get to the Lake House and party with you all. Miss ya’ll, Nut

An Unexpected turn…

Hope you all had a Merry Christmas!!! My Christmas ended up taking an unexpected turn… Christmas afternoon I was over in Chris’ room drinking a little Jack Daniels and coke and Lisa propped my feet up when all of sudden I began to black out, see spots, and get very dizzy. Next thing you know, I think every Doctor in the hospital was in my room, IV started, heart and BP was put monitor on! Not sure what happened but think my BP dropped and I’ve never propped my feet up like that before…  I feel good now but guess I’m going to have the pleasure of wearing this heart monitor/BP machine for a while!

Well, from what it sounds I didn’t miss a whole lot by not making the Christmas party. They said a few people sang, someone did a yoga dance, and one man did some karate moves or something… There Santa Claus dress up is quite different… They wear these horns – looks more like Satan horns! They seem to think it’s quite funny though! LOL Not sure who they are celebrating! Chicken Little did bring my camera and get some picture for me. Oh, Chicken Little always wears this ONE black shirt, so (for his benefit as well as mine, LOL) I got him a new black shirt for Christmas! He keeps saying, “Thank you” and is all excited…

Guess, that’s all for now… Was so good to hear from each one of you. Once again, hope you all had a Merry Christmas! Can’t wait to see you all. Till later, Nut

Merry Christmas!!

It’s Christmas day here now…and by the time ya’ll get this it will be Christmas morning. I got Stem Cell injection number 4 yesterday and all went well. I did get in a little quarl with the nurses about my time “flat”. I let them know they needed to go to the US to learn some math because they were trying to make me lay down for longer than my 4 hours. Needless to say, I was a little upset because it’s hard for me to lay down that long.  I did not feel all the acupuncture needles yesterday, but it may also be because I needed to be suctioned at the same time. I had to choose one or the other because the guy that does the acupuncture doesn’t stick around very long.  I did, however, feel my stem cell injection. And once again, I was up all night full of energy ready to talk!! But finally, I made it to sleep…

I woke up this morning to Chicken Little telling me “Merry Christmas!” Julie, the PT got me a card and a bag of candy for Christmas. Floor 10 is having a Christmas party this afternoon for all the stem cell patients. I think it’s suppose to start around 5:00.  Lucy is suppose to be bringing me a bottle of wine and I’m pretty sure the family from TN have a bottle of Jack Daniels to celebrate with. Either way I’m ready to have a drink! I think there’s also going to be karaoke machines and we all know how well they go together! Christmas here is not as big of a deal as it is at home, but everybody has been telling me “Merry Christmas” and they all seem in good spirits. I have 2 presents that I haven’t opened yet, but I’ll be sure to get around to that here in a little bit. The PT told me he could feel a difference in my arms and legs. I always try to do everything he does so I’m pretty sure I’m getting more muscle tone. I know my arms are getting stronger because I hit myself in the eye yesterday! I appreciate each and every one of you checking my blog and leaving me comments. It makes me very happy to read them. I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas! I love and miss each and every one of you. Hope ya’ll are all preparing for the BIG party when I get home!!

Nut

p.s. I’ll be sure to let you know how the Christmas party goes here in China!

Merry Christmas Eve…

Good afternoon everyone! Right now it is about 1 pm Monday afternoon… I’m just lying in bed watching some TV for now. Everything is going well. Had my usual treatments this morning and got a massage. Massages aren’t too bad… I think the guy might be a little timid to really massage me well, thinking he might hurt me. He tends to rub just one area of my back. But it’s better than nothing…

Yesterday was the day off. Didn’t have my usual treatments other than my IV’s and regular breathing treatments. In the afternoon Lucy took me out to the park for a little stroll. Chris and his family attempted to go to the Hidden Palace but Chris wasn’t able to go in with the wheelchair and from what they say I didn’t miss much. I’ll have to see their pictures though… In about half an hour I’ll get my acupuncture and then at 4 this afternoon I should receive my fourth stem cell injection. Plan on spending my “time” (4 hours flat) visiting in Chris’ room. He is also getting an injection this afternoon.

Well, it’s about that time, isn’t it? Christmas, I mean… Hope you all like the pictures. Notice our beautiful Christmas tree in the back ground? LOL Think it’s more like some kind of banana tree! Closest thing we could get to it, at least it’s green! Especially miss being with you all during Christmas… Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas! Tis the season… Merry Christmas, Nut
