9th & 10th day in China

Friday Trinity had her second stem cell treatment…this treatment was given through the lumbar area..she was given general anesthesia…the procedure took only about 20 mins….everything went well she was very tired afterwards though…

Saturday when she woke up the first thing she said was, “my eyes hurt” Me and mom just smiled and mom told her everything would be okay God was performing a miracle…so we prayed and thanked God in advance for what he was doing…Trinity has been in good spirits and very happy…she hasn’t complained of any pain other than saying her eyes hurt a couple times today, but all is well.

we shall be in touch,

8th day in China

Today was full of therapy and her first day of needle acupuncture!! YIKES….it actually went very well Trinity received 5 acupunctures in the head and one in each leg…I asked her what did it feel like she described it as feeling kind of like ants. I am so proud of my baby she is so mature in tolerating all the different treatment..the therapist states that she is a wonderful patient, she is the youngest here doing the needle acupuncture…I have some pics of the therapy…Me and mom rewarded Trinity with whatever she wanted..she asked for a lollipop, chocolate pudding, and to ride the horsie! So we gave her what she wanted and took her across the street to the outlet carousel…and she of course had to ride twice…tomorrow is a stem cell treatment day so we will be in touch http://www.flickr.com/photos/43195933@N06/?saved=1

7th day in China

Today was rather laid back….this morning the doctor visited to check on Trinity’s condition…everything is going good she is feeling good and full of energy…she had two therapy sessions today…ear point treatment and electrowave therapy in the AM and leg, head, and eye massages with ear point treatment and fire cup massage to the back in the PM….quite different from American therapy but very interesting….the therapy or rehabiliation is suppose to stimulate and circulate the blood flow helping with motor and cognitive development…it is intended to enhance the effects of stem cells! Trinity likes it!  One of the American families had good news yesterday…her son is 8 years old and has the same condition as Trinity…he has only received two stem cell treatments so far and is now SEEING LIGHT!  We are all so excited and praising God!!! Well Trinity will be receiving her second treatment Friday through lumbar puncture…please keep us in your prayers..

4th, 5th, and 6th day in China

Ok I have some catching up to do…..the internet server has been down and we have been so busy…

October 4 was Sunday here we had a free day so we went sightseeing in downtown Qingdao…we went to visit May 4th Square which is the largest sculpture here in Qingdao (you will see it in the pics..big, red, and round)…it’s located right near the Yellow Sea were the 2008 sailing Olympic event was held…need less to say the area is beautiful and well manicured…It’s so funny going out sightseeing because me, mom and Trinity are so excited about seeing new things and taking pics while the Chinese are so excited to see us and asking to take pics of Trinity…they constantly point at us, stare, making complete circles around us, trying to get their little kids to take a pic next to Trinity…it’s quite frustrating sometime but they are all very nice and just interested in us because we are different…We went to Jimo market it’s a place were you can basically make an offer or talk the seller down on merchandise…it’s quite crowded and a little chaotic….there are so many different floor levels and exits that aren’t numbered so we got lost…yes we got lost INSIDE A STORE!!!! It was our first day out so we didn’t think to get our driver mobile number…we roamed aimlessly for about an hour…in almost a panic..we were so relieved when we found some one that spoke a little English who directed us in the right path!  We were all exhausted by then and headed back to the hospital…. our home away from home.

October 5…Trinity had her therapy session and her FIRST STEM CELL TREATMENT intravenously… it was very easy…it only took about 45 mins to complete…no pain or tears from Trinity!  We are just praying that those stem cells start doing their magic!

October 6..We had a free day today so we went out to Polar Ocean World it’s kind of like an aquarium…Trinity enjoyed this very much! Me and mom are trying to get use to the hole in the floor/toilet…whenever we go out there isn’t a western toilet like at the hospital…we don’t understand how they don’t get themselves wet (lol) I guess we have to work on our squatting technique!  Our sleep patterns are still off I thought we would have got use to the time difference by now we are sleepy when it’s still daylight and up at 2:30am  Well our next treatment will be on Friday so I will be in touch…Check out the pics

3rd day in China

Today is Autumn Day here it’s like a big holiday were family get together and celebrate and eat…Kind of like Thanksgiving at home…so our translators got together and prepared us some Chinese cuisine…we had garlic chutes with scrambled eggs, clams, some types of fish(with the head and eyes on and everything!), fried eggs, sunflower seeds, dumplings, cherry tomatoes, moon pies(some type of Chinese dessert with different fillings like pineapple, or sweet pea, or red bean) moons pies are special around this time because it means reunion…we had different fruit like watermelon, bananas, grapes(I took some pics)…me and mom taste some of the things (quite different from home)  We were able to meet other families from the US there are about 9 or so other familes here some with the same condition as Trinity and some with other things..they all have seen some type of positive results with increase in vision or gaining light perception etc.  Everyone is very nice in telling us were to eat, shop, and sight see!  Me, mom, and Trinity went to the outlet across the street today, we didn’t realize how big the outlet was…it takes up about 4 blocks or more it’s 4 stories tall…it has an amusement park inside with roller coaster (that goes through the whole mall), water ride, two story horse carousel, etc.  The little boutiques are nice nothing like what we have at home though.  Our sleep patterns are still so off we went to sleep at about 4:30 pm…well we said were going down for a nap since it was soooo early but we didn’t get up until 2:25am our body is so confused we are up now eating breakfast like it’s 8:00am….here is the link to see some pics

2nd day in China

Today was a good day! Trinity had two physical therapy sessions…here they do therapy a whole lot different than we are custom too she had electric wave therapy, ear point treatment, and massage with fire cups…very interesting! We went to the market/outlet across the street, there is hundreds of little stores with everything you can imagine…we can’t really shop in peace because people stare and point all the time. They love staring at Trinity for some reason and some even ask to take a picture with her…the few that can speak English keep saying we are very beautiful so they are nice they just not use to seeing foreign people.  The meat department in the market is very weird…the meat is just out and people use tongs to pick around in it. Stuff is really cheap here though. We still trying to get use the time difference we are so sleepy during the day here.  Oh yea and people drive CRAZY here they constantly blow there horns and zoom in and out of lanes I don’t think there is driving rules here believe me you will get ran over the pedestrians does not have the right way here. Still working on sending some pics i’m having a little trouble….
