Methods: A detailed follow-up form was designed for pre-operative patients who had Spinal Cord Injury (SCI). OECs cultured in vitro from human embryo olfactory bulb were transplanted to SCI patients by injection. At different times after treatment, data was acquired from all kinds of observation items and statistically analysed. A sweat test was performed pre-operatively once before operation, 7 times every day and 5 times every week, after operation. Results: one systemic case was observed before and after human OECs transplantation, and there difference was found between the autonomic nerve function (sweat test) before and after operation (P<0.05). One case finished the sweat test, and the color change level was analysed, there was no change in the earlier three days, however the test on the fourth day a difference color change was observed level low to T11, further more, the level low toT12 three weeks after operation but have no change after that. There was an obvious difference between the pre-operation and the three weeks after operation (P<0.01), and difference was also found between the pre-operation and within two week later operation (P<0.05). No difference was occurred between the 3rd week and later weeks (P>0.1). For other nerve function there was no obvious change. Conclusion: Human OECs transplantation treatment can improve paraplegic patient autonomic nerve function a short time after operation, but sense and motion function did not change in our short time observation.
