Spinal cord injury patients face myriad hurdles following their injury. Quick decisions lead to months of surgeries and rehabilitation. Michelle Hooks tells us she was the model of "perfect health" prior to being T-boned at an intersection by a driver running a red light. Four years on and Michelle has found herself in China twice receiving regimens of adult stem cells alongside intensive physical therapy.

The treatments have not "cured" her spine's condition. The results of such injuries are far-reaching. But in this week's video Michelle describes discovering what she considers improvements to her quality of life following the treatments. Some people might not consider such things improvements. But perhaps they don't have a sense of scope or that sense of just how far Michelle has come to see such changes in her life.

Minor, awkward strides eventually gain strength and vigor. We can dismiss her improvements as not being a cure.
