NAME: Kenneth

COUNTRY: Canada

AGE:
52

DIAGNOSIS: Multiple Sclerosis

REASON FOR COMING FOR TREATMENT:
The patient was diagnosed with progressive multiple sclerosis several years ago and has reported a steady decline in his condition since then. In seeking alternative treatment, he hopes for improvements in his walking, balance and other vital functions.

TREATMENT:

Autologous bone marrow stem cells
Umbilical cord stem cells
Nerve growth factor injections
Rehabilitation therapy

BEFORE THE TREATMENT:
The patient's mobility was severely limited by his disease. Physical impairments caused by his condition included limited ability to move and balance. This amounted to being able to walk a few steps with a cane and finding it difficult to stand unassisted. The weakening of his muscles had made his posture very poor resulting in a hunched over position while standing. In addition he suffered chronic back pain and painful spasms in his legs during the night. His condition also made it difficult for him to control his bladder and bowel functions.

AFTER THE TREATMENT:
Immediately following the initial treatments, the patient exhibited improvements in balance. As the course progressed, this manifested itself in the patient's ability to walk unassisted - he is now able to walk 15 - 20 steps with a regular posture. For a visual comparison of his balancing ability (the patient undergoing physiotherapy) before and after treatment, please view the video. Other improvements included a reduction in the severity of pain and spasms in the legs and back, resulting in better sleeping patterns. His bowel and bladder control increased.

Aside: During the patient's treatment, an increase in the rate of improvements was recorded after the administration of bone marrow stem cells. This is by no means testimony for the increased effectivity of this type of stem cell on this type of disease. Nevertheless, the increased activity was associated with this period and should be noted.
