Betty Helm received adult stem cell transplants at one of the first centers in China to offer them to international patients three years ago in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen. The legacy of this early center lives on today in several centers continuing to develop the medical practice. Betty, hailing from Louisiana, caught up with us at the Stem Cell Awareness event in Tampa Bay to talk about the progress she has made, life after seeing MS regress and the possibility of an eventual return for more treatment.

We are happy to also make her complete StemCellsChina Vault video available. With subtitles in English and all original web-clips collected together in one place, you can watch and see some of the first reports the world received of progress made on the adult stem cell front in the treatment of multiple sclerosis.

Catch up with Betty in her new video here.

Dorothy Back in the UK

Dorothy Leach lost her sight overnight. It's taking a bit longer to get some of it back. But doctors in the UK told her they had nothing to offer but "wait and see". The BBC caught up with her at home following her trip to China for stem cell transplants. She received retro-bulbar injections of adult stem cell packs behind her eye around the optic nerve along with IV injections of adult stem cell packs.

About her return trip to the UK following treatment she said "As I got off the aeroplane and walked out of the airport I saw all the lights up in the ceiling. I haven't seen anything like that before."

For many people medical treatment involves the concerted efforts of entire communities. Dorothy received lots of support from readers of the local papers. Check out this article in This is Gloucestershire following her recent return. Get that baby over to see Great Grandmother now!

Izabelle in China Today

Little Izzy has SOD. She recently arrived in China with her family and they've been taking it all in. Greeters at the airport? Check. Malls and grocery stores? Check. Roller-coasters in the malls running overhead? Like adult stem cell treatments, you might only find that in China.
