There are no translations available. In this week's video and patient experience Jeff allowed us to show one of his lumbar puncture adult stem cell transplants. The video also includes subtitled interviews with Jeff and his wife along with home video from his first treatment in 2008. While his wife wanted to go to Disneyland in 2010, Jeff's Ataxia was starting to progress again and he saw another trip to China for the Summer. Stem cell treatment in 2008 had pushed back the disease's development but it wouldn't hold forever. Jeff Crowe's hereditary Ataxia (SCA-1) hit hard in his early 30s. A teacher in the United States, Jeff began to have double-vision, slurred speech, fatigue and difficulty with his balance and walking. He looked drunk. All the time. He didn't feel drunk. There is no treatment available in the US for ataxia. He came to China to receive umbilical cord blood stem cell transplants. In our new video this week we talk with Jeff about his condition, we see footage of one of his lumbar puncture surgeries and we see Crowe family videos from his 2008 treatment. From The Billings Gazette: "Stem cells help Skylie see"Check out this short video report as The Billings Gazette catches up with Milton family following their return from China. Skylie could see about a foot in front of her before stem cell treatment. A month later her mother tells us she can see 26 feet away. Just another case of spontaneous rapid improvement in vision?
